성균관대학교에서 한국문학과 데이터사이언스를 전공했고, 지금은 한국학중앙연구원에서 인문정보학(디지털인문학)을 공부한다. 연구소 일원으로서 한국 근현대 소설을 TEI로 구조화하고 소설의 상호참조를 다국어로 주석하는 등, 문학을 기계가 읽을 수 있는 데이터로 만드는 인문학적 데이터 구축에 기여하고 있다. 사실과 허구의 경계가 모호하고 단독의 저자에게 귀속될 수 없는 문학의 집합적 특질을 데이터로 구현하는 데 관심이 있으며, 문학과 비-문학의 경계를 횡단하는 학제적 연구를 지향한다.

Seonyeong Park studied Korean literature and data science at Sungkyunkwan University and is now pursuing an MA in Cultural Informatics (digital humanities) at the Academy of Korean Studies. As a member of a research lab, she has contributed to building humanistic data that makes literature machine-readable, from encoding modern Korean novels in TEI to annotating coreference in fiction across languages. She is interested in rendering as data the collective qualities of literature: its blurred boundary between fact and fiction, and its resistance to attribution to a single author. Her work is interdisciplinary, crossing the boundary between the literary and the non-literary.
